1. All of these attacks against the civilian populations between May 1997 and April 1999 were notable for their summary executions, mutilations, looting and burning of villages, violations of sexual integrity, forced marriages, abductions and forced labour,-particularly in the diamond mines- and by the enlistment and use of child soldiers.

All diese Angriffe gegen die Zivilbevölkerung zwischen Mai 1997 und April 1999 sollen geprägt gewesen sein von Hinrichtungen ohne Gerichtsverfahren, Verstümmelungen, Plünderungen und Anzünden von Dörfern, Verstössen gegen die sexuelle Integrität, Zwangsheiraten, Entführungen, Zwangsarbeit insbesondere in Diamantminen und von Rekrutierung und des Missbrauchs von Kindern als Soldaten.

2. - having regard to the Protocol to the African Charter on Human and Peoples' Rights on the Rights of Women, approved at the Maputo Summit in July 2003 (second ordinary session of the Conference of the African Union), and the Cairo Declaration on the Elimination of Female Genital Mutilation, adopted on 23 June 2003 by representatives of 28 African and Arab countries taking part in the Afro-Arab Expert Consultation,

- unter Hinweis auf das Protokoll zur Afrikanischen Charta der Menschenrechte und Rechte der Völker über Rechte der Frauen, das auf dem AU-Gipfel in Maputo im Juli 2003 angenommen wurde (zweite ordentliche Tagung der Konferenz der Afrikanischen Union), und auf die Erklärung von Kairo über die Ausmerzung der weiblichen Genitalverstümmelung, die am 23. Juni 2003 von den Vertretern aus 28 afrikanischen und arabischen Ländern angenommen wurde, die an den afrikanisch-arabischen Konsultationen teilnahmen,
